The Indianapolis Hiking Club was formed on January 23, 1957. A combination hike schedule and newsletter was initally published monthly (the first one in February 1957), but this was later changed to bimonthly, which continues up to the present day. For the first 20 years most schedules were about one page long, and all were prepared with a typewriter. Since the late 80's hike schedules have been prepared by computer, but much of the newletter was still the product of a typewriter. Beginning in 2009 both the schedule and newsletter were prepared on a computer and saved digitally. What was originally a one page schedule now regularly exceeds 20 pages.

All of the past schedules dating back to the first one ever published have been saved on this website and are accessable from this page. Only paper copies of the schedules published prior to 2009 were available and these have all been OCR scanned. A few of the scanned schedules can be challenging to read and a few pages (very few) are missing. Schedules published after 2009 have all been saved digitally. The Club schedules are listed in the decade they were published. Simply select the year you are interested in and a list of the bimonthly schedules published in that year will be displayed. Then, select the desired month you wish to view.

Beginning in the year 1999 we started keeping a Hike Leader index to aid in locating which schedule (month and year) a particular hike leader's hikes appeared. This index will be displayed starting with hike schedules published after January 1999. Sorry, but we do not have a Hike Leader Index for hikes prior to hikes in 1999, you will have to hunt and peck the earlier schedules, which luckily are all here.
